Today's Classwork and Reminders!

Assalamu Alaikum,

Today we had a  very productive day alhamdulilah!

Carpet Time:

We started our day with our izkars and memorizing the new dua of the month which is correlated with the November 's Character Trait " Cleanliness" . The dua of the month is:

اللَّهُمَّ نَقِّ قَلْبِي مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الأَبْيَضَ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ

Allāhumma naqqi qalbī min al-khaṭāyā kamā naqqaitath-thawbal-abyaḍa min ad-dannas

“O Allah, cleanse my heart of sins as You cleanse a white garment of filth"

Then students took turns to  to tell the class about their experience at yesterday's field trip.

Grammar: We are  learning about  verbs. Students took part in the graffiti activity, where students  rotated around the class in their groups to write school related, art related, sport related and vacation related verbs on chart paper. Each group got to present one category to the class. After that students filled in an exit slip to show how much understanding they have about verbs so far.

Math: We learned about estimating, and students estimated how many marbles they could draw in a jar in one minute. Then they drew marbles for one minute, counted them by 2s or 5s and recorded their answer.

We also completed page 14 in our math books where we read the definitions of SKIP COUNTING and ESTIMATE, we skip counted by 5s, estimated dots in a box, and we had a choice to count the dots by 2s or 5s and  record the number of dots.

Islamic Studies: We reviewed the story of the sons of Prophet Adam (SAW),by taking turns to re tell the story. We learned that there is good jealousy and bad jealousy. Students gave examples of good jealousy, and bad jealousy.

Science:Today students watched a video to review the characteristics of insects. Then each team made a mind map to show what they know about insects. They did a great job, Masha Allah!  After that, they wrote 5 special things about insects independently.
